Las Vegas carpet has a specific problem

Two things age carpet faster here than almost anywhere else. The first is dust. Valley dust is fine and sharp, it rides in on shoes and blows through doorways, and it settles at the base of the pile where a vacuum cannot reach. Down there it behaves like sandpaper and cuts the fiber every time somebody crosses the room.

The second is how dry it is. Low humidity is the reason your carpet dries in hours instead of overnight, which is a genuine advantage. It also means spills dry into the fiber fast and set hard before anyone gets to them.

So carpet in Las Vegas goes flat and grey along the walking routes years before the rest of the room shows any wear. That grey path from the front door through the living room is the thing most people finally call about, and it is usually recoverable.

The homes we work in across the city

Las Vegas is not one housing stock, and the job changes with the neighborhood.

• Older central and east side. Homes built through the seventies and eighties around Charleston, Sahara and Eastern. Carpet here is often years past its last professional clean, which sounds bad and usually is not. Those are the jobs with the most dramatic difference.
• Condos and apartments. Low-pile builder carpet, tight rooms, and stairs in the two-storey units. We work around furniture and can be in and out inside a couple of hours.

• Newer builds on the edges. Light builder-grade carpet that shows every traffic lane, which is why owners here tend to call once a year rather than once a decade.

Getting to you

Our base is in North Las Vegas, so anywhere along the 95 and the 15 is a short run. Central and east Las Vegas we reach easily most days. If you are calling from the far south or west side, ask about the afternoon rather than assuming, because the drive shapes what we can fit in.

Same-day appointments open up regularly, and calling early in the day is the difference between getting one and waiting until tomorrow.

What we bring

The machine stays in the van. A truck-mounted system heats the solution and generates the vacuum from the vehicle, then sends both down a hose into your home, which is how it reaches temperatures and suction a portable unit cannot. That is what pulls embedded grit up out of the pile rather than pushing it around.

Most Las Vegas homes have tile through the kitchen and bathrooms, and valley water is hard enough that grout lines go dark within a few years of mopping.
